In order to facilitate more programs, functions and plugins, the editor now publishes all pages with .php extensions instead of .html.  (The pages will look exactly the same).

New Publish & Preview Functions

Keeping up with the exponential growth of users of the website editor has been a wonderful challenge! This week, we will complete, install and activate three new scripts in the program related to the preview and publish functions.

1) The old publish function has been revised, so you may still use it if you want to, we have just improved it. The new publish function may not be supported by all remote servers. (Our estimate is less than 1%). This one will always work.

2) We are enabling a local publish that will allow you to preview your complete site on the local server before publishing it to your domain.

3) We are implementing a new publish that packs your entire site up in a compressed file, pushes it via FTP to the remote server, and unpacks it on the other end. (This will greatly speed up publish time, especially if you have a website with lots of pages and other content.

New Server

Our new, rockin' production server is in beta test now and the website editor will be migrated and working on it by the end of this month.

We are taking care to make this migration seamless, but some latency due to DNS propogation times may occur.

The plan is to make the move this weekend, so coming Monday, June 23, you should be using the website editor on the new server.
